‘Stop sterilizing Christmas’ Says Gary Beaver, Archbishop of the Old Catholic Church

(PRWEB) December 6, 2005

The tranquil rituals of Christmas, badly choreographed nativity plays, carol singers yearning for a white Christmas coupled with the jamborees are under serious threat.

Demonstrable struggles against the season of goodwilll have unequivocally been expressed in the US. The Telegraph newspaper in the UK reported last year that a Kansas Newspaper printed an apology after referring to a Christmas tree” at the citys Winterfest celebration, rather than a “community tree. A Denver city parade banned a Christian Church float, allowing Chinese lion dancing, and German folk dancing, and further, Tiny Tims prayer of : “God bless us, every one.” was deemed offensive enough to ban a Washington school play, and amazingly the mayor in Massachusetts formally apologised for referring to the holiday party as a Christmas party.

A 21st century celebration and contemplation of our Saviours birth stated Gary Beaver, Archbishop of the Old Catholic Church, envisages Christmas which seems something to be embarrassed about. We have become so concerned with legally enforced cultural and religious rights of other nationals, at the expense of our own religious identity. Christmas is our heritage and legacy speaking about the impact of the growing taboo of Christmas on future generations.

Archbishop Gary Beaver stated; If we keep chopping bits off it on this ridiculous rollercoaster of political correctness, soon we will need planning permission to hold a Christmas party, with mistletoe hanging under police protection, legislation to avoid Santas knee and a good solicitor on the payroll until the New Year

Last year the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and the STUC united forces were officially warned of the perils of Christmas office parties citing mistletoe as a potential threat for sexual harassment lawsuits. Further political correctness demanded that the Red Cross ban advent calendars, and many shopping centres to ban Christmas carol singers.

Every year Christmas becomes less of a Christian celebration of worship, and who exactly is it for? asked Archbishop Gary Beaver. I cant imagine that any religious of other creeds are actually offended by Christmas, the decision it seems is taken by faceless, non-denominational bureaucratic institutions whose thirst for cultural diversity, and political correctness, actually kills the very thing they are seeking to protect.

What is truly worrying is that future generations will not know any better.

Merry Christs Mass to all from the Old Catholic Church of Great Britain.

What? Church Closed on Christmas Sunday?

Milford, OH (PRWEB) December 22, 2005

While many churches in the area are closed on Christmas Sunday, Harvest Pointe Christian Church is open for business. Harvest Pointe Christian Church is well known for playing a vital role in the lives of families in the community and Christmas Sunday will be no exception.

Christmas this year falls on a Sunday. This is something that hasnt occurred since 1994. This time around many churches have decided to cancel their Sunday morning services to give families time off. Harvest Pointe Christian Church in Milford Ohio has decided to stay open on Christmas Sunday. Harvest Pointe believes that they are here for the community and while putting together a service on Sundays requires work it is well worth the effort for the families in the community. James Carwell, a member of the leadership committee, said I have heard so many families in the community ask, in confusion, why would a church close their doors on Sunday when they should be celebrating Jesus as they do every other Sunday of the year?.

While Sunday morning will be a busy time for families, Harvest Pointe feels these families want and need to hear about Christ and celebrate this gift together. One member of Harvest Pointe said that when she was a child the only time I attended church was on Easter and Christmas and what if something that was said or done on that day changed my life and caused me to be a Christian today? If the church I went to as a child had closed their doors maybe I wouldnt have a relationship with Christ today.
